Judd Nelson Returning to The Transformers Universe

30 years after Judd Nelson originally voiced the character of Hot Rod in the 1986 Transformers animated movie, he is once again returning to reprise his role in a new Transformer series. The NEW streaming series will be titled Titans Return and will also feature the voices of Jason David Frank (The Green Ranger/Mighty Morphin Power Rangers) and Wil Wheaton (Wesley Crusher/ Star Trek: The Next Generation). Another awesome announcement is the return of Peter Cullen as the voice of the iconic Optimus Prime. Unfortunately he was absent in the last Transformers streaming series titled Combiner Wars. Both Combiner Wars and The Titans Return are exclusive to the streaming service Go90.

Nerdcast 2.0 Episode 13 (Podcast)

On this episode of the Nerdgasm Needs podcast I talk about my best and worst celebrity experiences at Comic Con, give you my thoughts on the good and bad of the Ghost Recon: Wild Lands beta, and talk about the official Iron Fist trailer for the Marvel/Netflix series coming later this year. Did you notice something familiar about the new trailer for it? Please give it a listen, share with your friends, and let me know what you think Nerd Nation by leaving me your thoughts and comments below.

Transformers Combiner Wars Trailer (Video)

So my initial impression of Transformers: Combiner Wars after watching the prelude episodes wasn’t very good. Unfortunately with the prelude episodes we got a mix between 3D animation and motion comic animation. I was afraid the entire series was going to be like that, but fortunately that is not the case. I have posted the official trailer below and the animation actually looks really good. I am definitely excited to see the rest of this series and think that it should be pretty enjoyable for most Transformer fans.

NEW Transformers Animated Series

Hasbro and Machinima have apparently been working on a brand new Transformers animated series titled Transformers: Combiner Wars. Not only have they already announced the premiere date but they have also released some pretty awesome looking images at the Cannes Lion Festival. Honestly this is the first I am hearing about this new series but the images look amazing. What really makes me excited for this is the fact that Machinima is known for putting together awesome series that are exactly what fans want to see.

Transformers 5 Title/Teaser (Video)

I can’t say that I’m a big fan of the Michael Bay Transformer movie franchise, but I am a huge fan of the Transformers. I liked the first Bay-Formers movie but the rest were pretty much the same recycled shit over and over again. Well Paramount Pictures announced Transformers 5 last night on the film’s official Instagram page. The fifth (and hopefully final) movie in this particular franchise will be titled Transformers: The Last Knight. Production of the movie is set to begin in June of this year.

First Look At Netflix Voltron Series

Earlier this year Netflix announced the production of a brand new animated series based off of the popular 80s cartoon Voltron. The new series will be titled Voltron: Legendary Defender and is set to premier sometime later this year. Since the first announcement fans have been eagerly awaiting a glimpse of the mighty robot and we finally got one. Netflix has released it’s first official image of the iconic robot and I have mixed feelings about it.

The Transformers Music Album Coming Soon (Video)

There is no doubt that one of the biggest things to come out of the 80s is the mega franchise known as the Transformers. They’ve had five major theatrical movie releases including the animated movie back in the 80s, numerous video games and TV incarnations, and now it looks like they are trying to break out into the music industry. It has been announced that a brand new music album based on the Robots in Disguise is in the works and will be available for purchase very soon.

New Voltron Series Coming to Netflix

I grew up in the 80s and just like most 80s kids Voltron was a huge part of my childhood along with Transformers and G.I. Joe. There has been several incarnations of the mighty robot but most have failed to connect with audiences. Well for those of you that are fans of Voltron like myself, there is some good news. It appears that DreamWorks and Netflix are working on a new Voltron series that will premiere on the streaming service sometime this year.
