Overwatch Animated Short “Honor and Glory”

So far I have been very impressed with the Overwatch animated shorts from Blizzard. They have been really well done and look like something we’d see from Pixar Studios. This week was Blizzcon and for those of us that are fans of their games we were treated to some awesome new content. Some of that new content happened to be another animated short based on the origin story of the rocket-hammer wielding knight, that goes by the name of Reinhardt. Once again Blizzard did not disappoint and definitely delivered an emotional and entertaining back story for one of their most popular characters. Personally I haven’t played much with Reinhardt but after this I might.

NEW The Last of Us Part II Trailer

The Last of Us was one of the best games to ever hit consoles and PC. It told an amazing yet terrifying story in a unique and immersive world. However when the game ended we were all left with many questions and could not wait for the second one to come out. Well that was all the back in 2013. Now here we are at the end of 2017 and we are inching ever closer to the release of The Last of Us Part 2. It’s been almost a year since we got our first glimpse of this game in a violent and emotional teaser trailer that was released back in December of last year. If you missed it or want to check it out again just click here. Today we get another violent look at the game and it makes me want to play it even more.

NEW PS4 Spider-Man Trailer

I would have to say that one of the most anticipated games to have ever been announced for the PlayStation 4 has definitely got to be the up coming Spider-Man game. It was first mentioned all the way back at E3 2016 and we got our first look at some official game play at E3 2017. If you some how missed either of those announcements or just want to go back and check them out, then click here for the E3 2016 announcement and click here for the E3 2017 game play footage. Today Marvel and Sony gave us another taste of what is to come with an action packed new trailer. Once again this game is at the top of my list of “must haves” and is even making consider upgrading from my original PS4 to the new PS4 pro.

R.I.P. Xbox Kinect

Well it finally happened, the somewhat popular yet controversial Xbox Kinect Censor has officially been discontinued by Microsoft. According to Gamespot, Kinect creator Alex Kipman and Xbox Devices Marketing GM Matthew Lapsen shared the news in an interview with Fastcodesign. Microsoft has revealed that it has officially put an end to the manufacturing of the device but that the remaining Kinects still on store shelves will continue to be available for purchase. So if you’ve ever wanted a Kinect to go with your Xbox One or Xbox 360 now is the time to buy one. Personally I have never owned one and after Microsoft tried to shove it down our throats with the launch of the Xbox One, I never will.

Awesome Stranger Things Video Game is FREE

The much anticipated release of the second season of Stranger Things is just around the corner.  The first season was so popular that it quickly became the most talked about series on Netflix. Part of what made the show so unique and popular was the call back to the 1980s that ran throughout the entire series. Keeping the retro theme going Netflix and game developer BonusXp has created an awesome looking Stranger Things mobile game that is FREE to play. The best part about Stranger Things The Game is that it was made with 8-bit graphics that definitely make you feel like you are playing a classic game straight from the 80s or early 90s.

Red Dead Redemption II Story Trailer

Oh My God, It’s finally here! It’s been almost a year since we last got some sort of information on the long awaited and much anticipated Red Dead Redemption 2 from Rockstar Games. In fact it was all the way back in October that we got a first actual look at the game in the form of a short teaser trailer. Just in case you need a quick reminder, click here to check it out. This time around we actually get a look at some of the characters that will be in the story and best of all, they gave us a tentative release date. Like most of you I have been waiting for this game to come out since I finished the original back on the Xbox 360. From what we have seen here it definitely looks like it is going to be worth the wait.

Resident Evil 7 “Not a Hero” DLC Trailer

Chris Redfield is back and this time he is coming to Resident Evil 7. For those of you that may not have played Resident Evil 7 yet **SPOILER ALERT** skip this next sentence if you don’t want the ending ruined for you. At the end of Resident Evil 7 what looks like some special ops soldiers show up and rescue you from the house, and one of them turns out to be Chris Redfield. Now Campcom is releasing it’s latest DLC titled Not a Hero and it looks to be the story of what Chris and his team went through during the events of the game. However the best part about this DLC is that it will be completely free to anyone who already owns the gold edition of this game.

Toys”R”Us files for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy

The first thing I have to say is don’t panic Nerd Nation. When I first read the news about Toys”R”Us filing for bankruptcy, I about lost my sh*t. Ever since I was a kid I have always loved going into Toys”R”Us stores and now having kids I love it even more. I’ve seen a lot of sights posting that Toys”R”Us stores will be closing their doors, but that is NOT true. At least not yet anyways. Had they filed chapter 7 bankruptcy then we would definitely be kissing their stores goodbye right now. Thankfully the toy store giant has filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy and the hope is that they will come out of this with a lot less debt, and once again be competitive in the ever changing retail market.
