WTF Have they done to The ThunderCats???

So apparently there is a reboot of the ThunderCats coming to Cartoon Network and I’m gonna be honest here, it looks just terrible. Obviously this new cartoon series is not meant for fans of the original but rather a newer, younger generation of viewers. However, what they have turned this series into just looks plain insulting. I’m usually not the guy to just write things off completely until I’ve seen them, but Thunder Cats Roar is definitely a show that I will be avoiding like the plague. I think the worst part about it is that the creator of this series claims to be a fan of the original ThunderCats series and some how believes that he is paying homage to it with this new show.

Bandai Mini Classic Voltron Figure

If you were a kid who grew up in the 80s or just a fan of the popular animated series Voltron then you have to check this out. Bandai has released a new mini-figure for pre-order that actually comes with 5 lions to combine into the defender of the universe Voltron or Beast King GoLion as he is known in Japan. Fully combined this figure stands at only approx. 7.1″ tall, but is still highly pose-able and very detailed. The paint scheme on this figure is nice and bright, and very reminiscent of the original animation. This new Voltron figure is going to be part of Bandai’s Shokugan Mini Pla series which means that the figures will have some die-cast in them.

Goodbye Moonmen – Rick and Morty

This is a little bit of a random post but it’s mainly because I told my wife that I want this song played at my funeral while being slowly lowered into the ground…No joke. For those of you that are fans (lets be honest who isn’t) of the animated, science fiction series Rick and Morty then this song will definitely sound familiar to you. However, if you have not seen this episode or for some reason haven’t watched the series, then let this little number wet your pallet. The song is titled Goodbye Moonmen and is featured in the 2nd episode of season 2, titled Mortynight Run. The song is sung by a gaseous being who assumes the name of Fart after meeting Rick and Morty. It’s absolute ridiculousness but it’s easily one of my favorite songs ever.

Hasbro Buys The Power Rangers

Hasbro has officially purchased the Power Rangers property from Saban Entertainment. According to reports the cost of the deal is valued at $520 million. That is a whole lot of money but I think that it has gone to some really good and capable hands. Not only did Hasbro acquire the Power Rangers but the deal also included several other brands like; My Pet MonsterPopplesJulius Jr., and Luna Petunia. Hasbro is one of the biggest toy companies in the industry today and I think this could be really good news for toy collectors and Power Rangers fans that want to see a real movie franchise come to life. Below we have posted a statement from Hasbro’s CEO Brian Goldner about the purchase.

Attack on Titan Season 3 Trailer

We are only a few short months away from the premiere of the the third season of Attack on Titan. !!!SPOILER ALERT!!! If you haven’t seen all of season 2 then you might want to skip the rest of this article, but I’m gonna assume that everyone has seen it other wise you wouldn’t be here. The last season was crazy! We saw the debut of a new smart titan, we found out that there were Titans in the walls, but worst of all that Reiner and Bertholdt were the traitorous titans that were responsible for the very first attack from season 1.  Still it seems like the more mysteries that get uncovered, the more questions we are left with. Season 3 looks to bring about some more answers but also a lot more questions.

Big Hero 6 Animated Series Release Date

The Disney hit Big Hero 6 was released all the way back in 2014 and the announcement for a new animated series based on the movie happened back in 2016. If you missed that then just click here to see that story. Fast forward to 2018 and we are finally getting the news on when this series will actually be released. In all honesty I thought that this project had either been scrapped or that it had already been released and wasn’t much of a hit. Anyways, it looks like the Big Hero 6 animated series will finally premiere June 9th of this year at 9 a.m. EST. You can watch it on the Disney channel, DisneyNow, and Disney Channel on demand.

Reboot: The Guardian Code Official Trailer

So the reboot of the 1990’s CGI animated series appropriately named “Reboot” is coming to Netflix, and they just dropped the first official trailer for it. The new series is titled Reboot: The Guardian Code and my first impressions of it aren’t very positive. The original series was a ground breaking attempt at bringing an all computer animated TV show to the small screen.  Back in the mid 90s it was revolutionary for it’s time, unfortunately the original series just didn’t age well at all. The new series attempts to bring Reboot into the modern era with updated animation that is still reminiscent of the old show, but this time adding in an element of live action to it. I use to love the old show as a kid but I’m afraid this new one just doesn’t look very good to me.

Live-Action Halo TV Series Still in Development

I recently wrote about the return of Steven Spielberg’s animated series Animaniacs that isn’t set to debut until 2020. If you missed that story just click here to get the details on that. In that post I mentioned that a Spielberg directed, live-action, Halo TV series was announced 5 years ago along with the Xbox One reveal. I also mentioned that because we’ve been waiting so long for it that I am not holding my breath on the return of Animaniacs in 2 years. In all honesty I thought the Halo TV series was dead in the water but it looks like there still may be some hope left after all. I guess shame on us fans for giving up so easliy?
