Toys”R”Us files for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy

The first thing I have to say is don’t panic Nerd Nation. When I first read the news about Toys”R”Us filing for bankruptcy, I about lost my sh*t. Ever since I was a kid I have always loved going into Toys”R”Us stores and now having kids I love it even more. I’ve seen a lot of sights posting that Toys”R”Us stores will be closing their doors, but that is NOT true. At least not yet anyways. Had they filed chapter 7 bankruptcy then we would definitely be kissing their stores goodbye right now. Thankfully the toy store giant has filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy and the hope is that they will come out of this with a lot less debt, and once again be competitive in the ever changing retail market.

Sonic Forces Story Trailer

Sonic The Hedgehog is back with an awesome new adventure for consoles and PC. In Sonic Forces he and his friends must save the world from Eggman or Robotnic (as we in the states know him) and his army of evil robots. To be honest I am actually really glad to see Sega putting out a good looking Sonic game that looks exciting and somewhat reminiscent of the games for the original Genesis. Based on this trailer the story seems to be fairly compelling and the game play looks to be pretty fast paced as well as diverse. Not only does it look like a classic Sonic game, but it also has some visual elements of the Ratchet and Clank games. This might be the first Sonic game that I actually purchase in years.

NEW Mortal Kombat/Crash Bandicoot POPS

Time to make some room on your shelves Nerd Nation because some pretty awesome Pop figures, from some very iconic video game franchises will be making their way to stores shortly. Funko announced today on their blog that they will be releasing a line of Pop figures from both the Mortal Kombat and Crash Bndicoot video game series. Personally I think I am more excited for the Mortal Kombat Pops but I will definitely be getting Crash as well. Both figure lines are set to be released in November of this year just in time for the holidays. Below I have posted an image gallery for you viewing pleasure, so be sure to check it out to see all the figures from both Mortal Kombat and Crash Bandicoot.

Amazing “Batman: The Animated Series” Collectible Villain Set

This week one of the most iconic animated series from the 90s turned 25 years old. For those of you that grew up in the 90s you probably loved or at least were familiar with Batman: The Animated Series. For many kids that grew up watching this show Kevin Conroy (Batman) and Mark Hamil (Joker) defined Batman and the Joker for their entire generation. There were so many great story lines, iconic animation, and memorable villains that came out of that series. Well in honor of the show’s 25th anniversary DC Collectibles is releasing the Batman: The Animated Series GCPD Rogues Gallery action figure set. One look at this set and it’s obvious that any fan of the animated series or Batman in general will want to add this to their collection.

Judd Nelson Returning to The Transformers Universe

30 years after Judd Nelson originally voiced the character of Hot Rod in the 1986 Transformers animated movie, he is once again returning to reprise his role in a new Transformer series. The NEW streaming series will be titled Titans Return and will also feature the voices of Jason David Frank (The Green Ranger/Mighty Morphin Power Rangers) and Wil Wheaton (Wesley Crusher/ Star Trek: The Next Generation). Another awesome announcement is the return of Peter Cullen as the voice of the iconic Optimus Prime. Unfortunately he was absent in the last Transformers streaming series titled Combiner Wars. Both Combiner Wars and The Titans Return are exclusive to the streaming service Go90.

The submission required 10,000 fan votes to be passed on to the next stage of the approval process. Now after receiving the required amount of fan votes, the Danish toy company has announced that it will officially take this amazing Voltron set into production and it will eventually be available for purchase to the public. Voltron Season 3 Official Trailer

The new Voltron series on Netflix has been one of, if not the best renditions of the classic 80’s cartoon that has ever been made… and that includes the original. There have been 2 exciting seasons of the series so far and it looks like things are going to get even more intense in season 3. So far I have loved this series and so have my kids. I tried going back and watching some of the original series and in my opinion it just doesn’t hold up very well, especially when you have this to compare it to. That being said I can’t wait for season 3 to be released on Netflix especially after watching the official trailer. I have posted it below for your viewing pleasure so be sure to check it out!
