Incredibles 2 Official Trailer

It has been 14 long years since the first Incredibles movie was released into theaters. About 2 years back we heard the announcement that Disney and Pixar was in the process of making a sequel. Within the last few months we were able to get some short glimpses and screenshots of the upcoming movie, then finally today Disney graced us with the first official trailer for the Incredibles 2. The sequel picks up directly after the original and right from the beginning the Incredible family still looks and sounds exactly the same. It really feels as if no time has passed and I like that a lot. However, I don’t know if it’s just me but the animation in this trailer looks amazing. It’s reminiscent of the original but much more clean and crisp.

KB Toy Stores Returning

The sad news of Toys “R” Us closing all of it’s stores in North America was just announced last week. Not only do I have some great memories of going to Toys “R” Us as a kid but I also have some amazing memories of going there as an adult with my son. It’s always been a source of fun and excitement in my life and to see it go really does make me sad. However, there is some good news on the horizon for both toy store fans and the 33,000 employees of Toys R Us about to be laid off. Another former toy store giant is planning to make it’s return to North America. KB Toys has been gone for almost 10 year with the last of their stores closing back in 2009. However, plans are currently in the works to open new stores and help out former employees of the closing Toys R Us stores.

Reboot: The Guardian Code Official Trailer

So the reboot of the 1990’s CGI animated series appropriately named “Reboot” is coming to Netflix, and they just dropped the first official trailer for it. The new series is titled Reboot: The Guardian Code and my first impressions of it aren’t very positive. The original series was a ground breaking attempt at bringing an all computer animated TV show to the small screen.  Back in the mid 90s it was revolutionary for it’s time, unfortunately the original series just didn’t age well at all. The new series attempts to bring Reboot into the modern era with updated animation that is still reminiscent of the old show, but this time adding in an element of live action to it. I use to love the old show as a kid but I’m afraid this new one just doesn’t look very good to me.

The Animaniacs are coming to HULU but not for a while

All the way back in May of last year we heard that the classics 90’s cartoon Animaniacs would be getting a reboot. If you missed that story just click here to check it out. Since then things have been pretty quiet about the whole thing until today when it was announced that The Animaniacs will be making their return to the small screen through the streaming giant Hulu. For those of us that have fond memories of watching this show after a long day at school, this is some very exciting news. However don’t be expecting to see Yakko, Wakko, and their sister Dot right away. In fact, the new series is not expected to premiere until some time in the year 2020. A lot can change in 2 years so I for one am not getting too excited just yet.

R.I.P. Xbox Kinect

Well it finally happened, the somewhat popular yet controversial Xbox Kinect Censor has officially been discontinued by Microsoft. According to Gamespot, Kinect creator Alex Kipman and Xbox Devices Marketing GM Matthew Lapsen shared the news in an interview with Fastcodesign. Microsoft has revealed that it has officially put an end to the manufacturing of the device but that the remaining Kinects still on store shelves will continue to be available for purchase. So if you’ve ever wanted a Kinect to go with your Xbox One or Xbox 360 now is the time to buy one. Personally I have never owned one and after Microsoft tried to shove it down our throats with the launch of the Xbox One, I never will.

Awesome Stranger Things Video Game is FREE

The much anticipated release of the second season of Stranger Things is just around the corner.  The first season was so popular that it quickly became the most talked about series on Netflix. Part of what made the show so unique and popular was the call back to the 1980s that ran throughout the entire series. Keeping the retro theme going Netflix and game developer BonusXp has created an awesome looking Stranger Things mobile game that is FREE to play. The best part about Stranger Things The Game is that it was made with 8-bit graphics that definitely make you feel like you are playing a classic game straight from the 80s or early 90s.

Blade Runner Black Out 2022 Anime

Blade Runner 2049 is set to hit theaters in just a couple of weeks on October 13. It is the sequel to the 1982 science fiction classic starring Harrison Ford. Some of you may be wondering how a movie from 1982 will connect to a movie being released in 2017. The answer to that question as well as many others is of course…Anime! That’s right an original anime short titled Blade Runner Blackout 2022 has been created to connect the events of the 2 feature films. This is actually one of 3 short films that has been produced for the Blade Runner saga and it is directed by Shinichiro Watanabe, the genius behind Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo.

Toys”R”Us files for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy

The first thing I have to say is don’t panic Nerd Nation. When I first read the news about Toys”R”Us filing for bankruptcy, I about lost my sh*t. Ever since I was a kid I have always loved going into Toys”R”Us stores and now having kids I love it even more. I’ve seen a lot of sights posting that Toys”R”Us stores will be closing their doors, but that is NOT true. At least not yet anyways. Had they filed chapter 7 bankruptcy then we would definitely be kissing their stores goodbye right now. Thankfully the toy store giant has filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy and the hope is that they will come out of this with a lot less debt, and once again be competitive in the ever changing retail market.
