Halo TV Series Starts Production in 2019

It’s been a long time since the plan for a live-action Halo TV series was first announced. 5 years is a long time to wait. In all honesty there was a point where I didn’t think that it was actually going to happen, but here we are with some exciting news. Showtime has officially ordered 10 hour long episodes for the first season, with production set to begin sometime in 2019. The series comes from director Rupert Wyatt (Rise of the Planet of the Apes), Kyle Killen (Awake), and Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment. There are so many exciting things that could be explored with this series, and I just hope that the people in charge have as much passion for this project as the fans have for the games.

Halo is our most ambitious series ever, and we expect audiences who have been anticipating it for years to be thoroughly rewarded,” said David Nevins, President and CEO Showtime Networks. “In the history of television, there simply has never been enough great science fiction. Kyle Killen’s scripts are thrilling, expansive and provocative, Rupert Wyatt is a wonderful, world-building director, and their vision of Halo will enthrall fans of the game while also drawing the uninitiated into a world of complex characters that populate this unique universe.”

Seeing as how the series is in very early pre-production there has not been an official release date given, but I have a feeling that it will coincide with the release of Halo Infinite that was recently announced at E3 2018. Not much else is known about the live-action Halo TV series but when we find out more you can be sure that we will bring it to you.
