Star Trek: Discovery Official Trailer

It has been 12 years since the last Star Trek series aired it’s final episode. Personally I think we are long overdue for another series that will explore strange new worlds and new civilizations. Thankfully the wait is almost over as CBS has given us our first look at the brand new series Star Trek: Discovery. This is definitely a new take on the Star Trek universe and it looks to have a very cinematic quality to it. If I didn’t know any better I would think I was watching a trailer for a new Star Trek movie. Visual effects have definitely come a long way since the days of Star Trek: The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine.

Before Kirk, Spock and the Enterprise there was Discovery. Now, one of the most iconic and influential global franchises returns to television with Star Trek: Discovery. The CBS All Access Original Series arrives this Fall.

My only concern with this series is that it seems to have taken a bit of influence from Star Trek: Enterprise which is considered to be one if not the worst show in the franchise according to many fans (me being one of them). I kind of wonder if making a series that is essentially a prequel to the fan favorites was a good idea. It’s hard to wrap my brain around why their tech looks so much better than anything we’ve seen in the other series. I’m thinking it might have been better if they would have made this series a sequel set maybe a half or even full century after Voyager. This is only my opinion and Of course, only time will tell if fans will love or hate this series. Still the trailer looks good and I am excited to watch this new Star Trek show.

Unfortunately we still have to wait until Fall to watch the premier so in the mean time check out the first official trailer for Star Trek: Discovery and as always, let us know what you think Nerd Nation.
