Live Action Death Note Teaser (Video)

It looks like 2017 is going to be the year of anime live action adaptations. First there was Ghost in The Shell and now the official teaser trailer for Death Note has been released. To be honest with you, this is one anime series that I have never actually watched so I can’t really judge the look and feel of this trailer on anything. However, I have posted below everything that is written about The Death Note live action movie from the Netflix YouTube page.

“What if you had the power to decide who lives and who dies? We suggest you obey the rules. Based on the famous Japanese manga written by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata, Death Note follows a high school student who comes across a supernatural notebook, realizing it holds within it a great power; if the owner inscribes someone’s name into it while picturing their face, he or she will die. Intoxicated with his new godlike abilities, the young man begins to kill those he deems unworthy of life.”

This anime adaptation will premiere exclusively on Netflix and is directed by Adam Wingard (Blair Witch, You’re Next) and stars Nat Wolff and Willem Dafoe. It’s hard to say if any of the original character names will stay the same or if they will change them all for american audiences. It sorta looks like everything will be different except for the demon and the concept of the anime series, but only time will tell. Death Note is set to premiere on Netflix on August 25th of this year.
