Clueless Gamer Becoming A Full Show
A segment of Conan O’brien’s late night show known as the Clueless Gamer is becoming it’s own show. Most of us have at some point in our lives at least seen a little bit of Conan O’brien but this particular segment is fairly new. It started in 2012 and the basic premise is Conan is given a video game that he has no idea how to play, and tries to review/make fun of it. He usually has guest stars that play with him and the whole thing is pretty hilarious and entertaining.
According to an article published by the Hollywood Reporter the TBS network is looking to make the popular segment of Conan’s show into a full length series. The show is being produced by Conan O’brien but will not actually feature him as the host. The show is expected to go into production next month and will feature a multitude of celebrities playing video games and making commentary on them, along with the host of the show.
“We’re going into production next month on a new series, Clueless Gamer, based on the viral video [Conan O’Brien has] done where he essentially makes fun of video games, gets celebrities to play and makes commentary on them,” TBS president Kevin Reilly told THR during an interview about the future of the late-night talk show. “We’ve gotten to the point where video game companies are sending us their new product for us to play and make fun of because it’s been such a huge success. We’re going to go into production on a series of that.”
The Clueless Gamer segment has been responsible for many viral videos and hilarious moments. It remains to be seen who will have the honor of hosting this new series, but I would think that after a few seasons of the show, the host could no longer be considered “clueless” about gaming. Anyway, we want to hear from you Nerd Nation. Have you seen the Clueless Gamer segment on Conan and do you think it will make a good TV series?
