The Chronicles of Narnia Reboot

So it looks like another beloved movie franchise is getting a reboot, but this might not actually be a bad thing. The Chronicles of Narnia are officially getting a reboot and the new movies will start off with the fourth book in the series titled the Silver Chair. I will admit that when I was younger I did love these book but never made it through the entire series. I always felt like the recent movie trilogy could have been great, but there was just something missing from them that never quite got them there.

According to MovieWeb.com TriStar Pictures and the C.S. Lewis Company will be teaming up to bring us a whole new set of movies starting with The Silver Chair. I am glad they are choosing not to start over from the very beginning to retell the same stories that we have already seen. Screen writer David Magee and Producer Mark Gordon teased that The Silver Chair will reboot the series to create a “brand new franchise.”  Producer Mark Gordon had this to say in a recent statement;

the-chronicles-of-narnia-20372Developing this project with The C.S. Lewis Company has been immensely exciting and a real joy. We are so pleased to team up with our good friends at TriStar and our partners at eOne to introduce this new, magical chapter of the Narnia franchise to fans around the world, both old and new.” So far there has been no potential release date given but it sounds like TriStar has been planning this for a while and will most likely be moving fast with this project.

Of course only time will tell what we actually get with these new Chronicles of Narnia movies. As always I want to hear from you Nerd Nation. Are you excited for an all new Chronicles of Narnia franchise with a fresh feel, new actors and director or do you think we have seen enough of those movies?
