Captain Power Reboot Trailer (Video)

For those of you that didn’t grow up in the 80s there was an awesome but under-rated TV series about futuristic, cybernetic warfare called Captain Power and The Soldiers of The Future. This was not only one of the best shows of it’s era but also spawned some amazing toys that were ahead of their time. The whole thing was really ahead of it’s time and the series only ran for one 14 episode season. Now here we are almost 30 years later and Captain Power is making a come back. Just a few days before it was supposed to be announced at this years Comic-Con International the new Captain Power titled Pheonix Rising got it’s first trailer. Original Captain Power series creator Gary Goddard and his Goddard Film Group partners Roger Lay, Jr, and Eric Carnagey will serve as Executive Producers for this project. There is so much to say about this new reboot but as a fan of the original I am seeing some very promising details about it.

hank3power1As appealing and relevant as the original setting, storylines, and themes behind Captain Power continue to be, Phoenix Rising, our next evolution of the franchise, will still have at its core the same essential elements that made the original series such an addictive success the first time out: Compelling and relatable characters whose struggles, hopes, and sacrifices will draw us back again and again to find out what happens next” said Roger Lay in a recent statement.

Hopefully there will be some amazing new interactive toys, possibly a mobile app that will be released along with this new series. Captain Power was ground breaking in so many ways and I hope that this reboot will be just as entertaining as the original was for the time.
