Everything We Know About LOZ: Breath of The Wind (Video)

The biggest thing, and sort of the only thing, that came from Nintendo’s E3 conference this year was the announcement of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild. Fans have been waiting for so long for the release of a next gen Zelda game and it’s finally coming. Now I’m not a huge Nintendo fan, mainly because of their terrible choices and lack of respect for the fans, but I am however really excited about this game. It looks amazing and now I’m seriously thinking about buying a Nintendo NX just to be able to play Breath of The Wild.

In LOZ: Breath of The Wild, there is so much to experience in the open world of Hyrule that it really blows my mind. Link actually starts out with no clothes or weapons. Instead, you the player have to find and upgrade your gear through out the game. In fact, Link actually gets gold in snowy places so the player has to dress him in gear appropriate for the weather conditions. Players can pretty much interact with everything in the environment. Link can hunt animals for food, gather vegetation, and combine them to cook meals. Cooking meals and just eating food in general helps to restore Link’s health. He also has a stamina gauge which is drained when he sprints, climbs, and swings heavy objects. In exchange for some stamina Link can slow down time in mid-jump to shoot arrows from the air.

loz-breath-04One of the best features of all is that Link can now jump at will. Link can swim, in the water, tame horses to ride, push giant boulders, find and craft weapons throughout the game. Speaking of weapons there are many different types of weapons, armor, and shields that Link can use. Weapons take damage and can even break in this game so upgrading your gear is very important. Shields are great for defense in combat, but Link can also use his shield to slide down steep mountainsides. Again he can interact with just about everything in Hyrule including climbing trees, rocks, and walls, all of which use his stamina meter. Nintendo has not given us much on the back story of this new game so a lot of what is happening in the game and what the player’s end goals are is still a bit of a mystery.

One thing is for sure though, this has the potential to be one of the greatest Legend of Zelda games of all time. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is currently set for release sometime in 2017. So check out the official trailer below and let me know what you think Nerd Nation.
