Disney’s Moana Official Trailer (Video)

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson stars as the Demi-God Maui in this first official trailer for Disney’s Moana. This year seems to be all about Disney when it comes to movies. So far they have had the top three biggest movies of 2016 with Zootopia, The Jungle Book, and Captain America: Civil War. Finding Dory hits theaters this week and no doubt that will be another hit for Disney. You can bet that Moana will follow in the footsteps of success as its predecessors.

Description taken from Walt Disney Animation Studios YouTube page; Moana, is a sweeping, CG-animated feature film about an adventurous teenager who sails out on a daring mission to save her people. During her journey, Moana (voice of Auli’i Cravalho) meets the once-mighty demigod Maui (voice of Dwayne Johnson), who guides her in her quest to become a master wayfinder. Together, they sail across the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous monsters and impossible odds, and along the way, Moana fulfills the ancient quest of her ancestors and discovers the one thing she’s always sought: her own identity.

mark-of-kri-edit-01On a side note the animation of Moana really reminds me of the awesome game from 2002 titled The Mark of Kri. If you haven’t played that game I highly recommend that you do especially if you still have a PlayStation 2. The minute you see that game you will know exactly what I mean and even back when it was first released the animation was compared to many Disney animated films. Now with the whole Pacific Island theme you can really see the similarity between the two. Anyway, Disney’s Moana is set to release into theaters on Nov. 23, 2016.

I am so excited about this Disney princess! The trailer was very refreshing and it’s nice to see a princess living in a tropical island for once. I think that Dwayne Johnson is a perfect fit as well.

Agreed. This movie has already shown some impressive scenes and is very beautiful to look at. Also, it is nice to see the chomorro culture represented in such an entertaining way. Plus you really can’t go wrong with the Rock these days
