Dragon Ball XENOVERSE 2 Announcement Trailer (Video)
This week Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc announced a sequel to the popular Dragon Ball Xenoverse game and released the first trailer. I actually own the first Dragon Ball Xenoverse game and I thought it was just OK. The combat and fighting system is pretty well done but the lack of an infinite practice mode and some of the impossible tasks made the game more of a daunting task rather than a source of entertainment. Still, being a huge Dragon Ball fan I’m always willing to give a new DB game a chance.
It looks like they are following pretty much the same formula as the previous Xenoverse game with protecting the past events from out side forces. Again you will play through the main story portion of the game as a custom character that you can create yourself. I thought the idea was decent enough but honestly all I’ve ever really wanted was a solid fighting game, with vast levels, where I can recreate the most epic battles from the Dragon Ball Z anime series.
I do like the inclusion of the future trunks story line and possibly being able to play as Future Gohan even though I believe that was in the previous game already. I hope that they make the Hub City a bit more interactive and fun to explore. The last one (Toki-Toki City) was very boring and honestly one of the worst parts of the first game. It played the same annoying song on a continuous loop, you couldn’t fly from one section to another, and worst of all they had a jump feature but you couldn’t jump onto or over anything nor was there any real reason to.
The trailer looks interesting but I do hope Xenoverse 2 is better than Xenoverse 1. Dragon Ball XENOVERSE 2 is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC later this year. So check out the trailer below and let me know what you think Nerd Nation.
