Star Wars Fan Film: Kara (Video)
That’s no fan film…Oh wait, actually it is. I’ve seen a lot of fan films in my day. Some are good and some not so much. This one is short but lands on the good side. There isn’t a whole lot to it but I definitely think any fan of Star Wars will find it entertaining. Like I said, it’s short so the good news is if you don’t actually like it then you’ve only wasted a short time of your life on it. Honestly though Kara is well put together and I enjoyed it.
Kara An Unofficial Star Wars Film looks like it is set either on Tatooine or most likely Jakku since it premiers on the heels of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. There isn’t much dialog and I think that’s a good thing. The visuals and costumes do most of the work here and sometimes too much dialog, especially poorly delivered dialog, can ruin and entire fan film. This Star Wars short film definitely has more of a stylized look and feel to it, but it is really well done.
The basic premise goes a little something like this; A rebel x-wing pilot is shot down by pursuing tie fighters and a father and daughter must help her find refuge. It isn’t long before storm troopers are deployed to the surface and show up to finish off the rebel scum. It looks like the three are about to meet their end when Kara reveals a very powerful surprise. I definitely recommend that you give it a watch especially if you love Star Wars or just fan films in general.
