Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny Trailer (Video)
It’s been fifteen years since we first saw the visual spectacle that is Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. I remember watching it as a teen a being amazed by the martial arts and visual effects. It was one of the first movies that really made us wonder if people could actually reach super human feats like that. A sequel has been rumored since the first one was released in 2000 and now after all these years it is finally here.
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny features the return of Michelle Yeoh (who still looks great) as Yu Shu Lien the true love of Li Mu Bai (Chow Yun Fat) who was killed in the first movie. Unfortunately Ziyi Zhang is not returning as Jen Yu but is instead being played by actress Shuya Chang. I think one of the most exciting aspects of this film is that martial arts legend Donni Yen and actor Jason Scott Lee have joined the cast.
Taken from IMDB; Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny is a story of lost love, young love, a legendary sword and one last opportunity at redemption. As for the trailer it’s self it looks interesting and action packed, but whoever chose the music really dropped the ball on this one. Someone clearly got their movies mixed up if they thought a new age version of CCR’s Bad Moon Rising would be a good fit for a mystical, period piece about martial arts. Still I’m excited for it and hope that it can at least do the original justice.
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny comes to Netflix February 26. As always I want to hear from you Nerd Nation.
