90s Nicktoons Coming Back (Video)

For those of us that grew up watching awesome shows like Doug, Rugrats, Hey Arnold, Ren and Stimpy and many others, then this is some really great news. Nickelodeon has decided to bring back their classic shows from the 90s and air them in a programming block called The Splat. Nickelodeon has not made any official announcement as of yet, but the official TheSplat.com webpage went live over the weekend as well as a YouTube channel, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages.

According to Buzzfeed The Splat programming block will premiere on Nickelodeon in October. Apparently it will air between the hours of 10 pm and 6 am in the U.S. There has been no official listing of which shows will be featured on The Splat. I’m sure it will take several months of changes before they find which shows are the most popular and what sort of programming schedule works the best.

I think it will be pretty cool to have all of these shows in one place like how they were originally aired. The funny thing is there was actually a site called Nick Reboot that streamed old Nickelodeon shows and commercials from the 90s 24/7. The quality wasn’t that good and from what I can tell it got shut down. Hopefully these shows will be updated to wide screen/HD format and we can enjoy our childhood favorites once again.
