DuckTales Reboot

So it looks like Disney has decided to reach into the vault and bust out a classic cartoon that many of us grew up on. DuckTales was one of my most favorite cartoons growing up as a kid and I’m pretty excited to hear it’s coming back. Though I have missed the cartoons of my childhood I’m also not so sure everything needs to be rebooted. However, this sounds like it could be pretty cool and let a whole new generation of kids experience the awesomeness that is DuckTales.

Taken from D23; an all-new DuckTales, an animated comedy series based on the Emmy® Award-winning series treasured by a generation of viewers, has been ordered for launch in 2017 on Disney XD channels around the world.

Ducktales_04_CVR_CApparently this new series is set to follow the adventures of Scrooge McDuck, Donald Duck, and their nephews (Huey, Dewey, and Louie). There are also plans to include fan favorites like Gyro Gearloose, Launchpad McQuack, The Beagle Boys, and more. Disney plans on recreating the “adventurous spirit” that captivated both children and adults in the First Duck Tales series. I think this sounds like a great idea and I would love to hear some of the original voice actors reprise their roles. So far there is no word on who will or will not be returning to the show.

The original show boasted 100 episodes, ran from 1987-1990, and even had it’s own theatrical release DuckTales the Movie: Treasure of the Lost Lamp. Though still 2 years away I can’t wait to see what adventures come next and hopefully my kids will still be young enough to want to watch them with me. Here’s to 100 more episodes 😀
