Dragon Ball Z: Light of Hope (Video)

This has been a pretty amazing week for fan films and it’s only Wednesday. We’re back with another one for you this time from RobotUnderdog2. These guys have done a fantastic job bringing the world of Dragon Ball Z to life. I’ve seen a lot of DBZ fan films, this one is not perfect, and I have my criticisms, but honestly this is the best one I’ve seen so far. It gives me hope that we might actually be able to see some of the most iconic battles in Anime history in live action form.

Dragon Ball Z: Light of Hope is based off of the alternate future that is featured in the Future Trunks movie. All the Z fighters have been killed by Androids 17 and 18, and all that is left is young Trunks and his mentor Gohan. This has always been one of my most favorite story lines from the entire DBZ series. From the first time I saw it, I liked watching Gohan face off against these two soulless machines in an effort to save what’s left of humanity.

Gohan_&_Trunks02I love just about everything in this fan film. It’s entertaining, emotional, and the acting and dialog are pretty well done. The fighting scenes and special effects are amazing and really do capture the feel of the anime without looking ridiculous. The costumes are pretty spot on but don’t look so cartoony that they become distracting. Whoever they got to play the androids are perfect and really convey that heartless feel. My only real complaint is Gohan’s super saiyan hair. It looks like they just put some cheap yellow spray in it. That is one of the most exciting things fans want to see in a film like this so it’s not really something you should cheap out on…Just my opinion.

All in all though this is a really amazing fan film that completely captures the look and feel on the Dragon Ball Z anime. It is completely non profit so if you like what you see then consider checking out their donation page by Clicking Here to help them make more episodes. Anyways, check out Dragon Ball Z: Light of Hope and let me know what you think Nerd Nation. Was this the best DBZ fan film you’ve seen and would you like to see more episodes from them? Leave me your thoughts in a comment below, on the Facebook page or on Twitter…Enjoy!
