Ant-Man Official Trailer

So the Ant-Man movie trailer was released yesterday and by the time I saw it I was already in bed…oops. Besides it seemed like everyone and “they mama” posted it within seconds of each other. By now I’m sure most of you have seen it, but if not it is posted below. Anyways, it gave me time to watch it a couple times and reflect on what I saw. So I figured today I would just go ahead and write down my thoughts on the whole thing and compare it to what everyone else is saying.

My initial thought was, I still can’t picture Paul Rudd as the heroic type. I love him in movies like “The 40 Year Old Virgin”, “Role Models” and “I Love You Man”, but seeing him as the next big (or small) super hero to hit the big screen is a little hard for me wrap my brain around. I’m sure I’ll change my mind after I watch the actual movie, but right now it’s a little bit of a stretch. I have to admit that the trailer it’s self looks pretty intense and for the first time in my life got me a little excited for something that involved Ant-Man. Also I’ll admit that his suit does look pretty cool too.

That being said I’m not all that impressed and I’m just not really excited for an Ant-Man movie. I get how he is tied in with the Avengers and that Hank Pym is responsible for the creation of Ultron, but I’ve just never really been a fan. Watching him ride a bug in this trailer isn’t as exciting as it was back when I first saw “Honey I Shrunk The Kids”. I know I’m probably gonna catch a lot of shit for this, but it’s all good. Overall the trailer looks good but as far as Ant-Man the character goes, I could take him or leave him.

As always I want to know what you think about this Nerd Nation. Are you super stoked for the new Ant-Man movie and do you think he will play a pivotal role in the Avengers movies sometime down the line? Let me know your thoughts by leaving me a comment below, on the Facebook page, or on Twitter. Oh and check out the trailer below if you haven’t already watched it…Enjoy!
