A Smallville Man (Video)

I’ll be the first to admit that I am not a huge fan of DC or Superman and I am even less of a fan of The Foo Fighters. However this video that combines the two is actually really well done and go together perfectly. When I say that I’m not a huge fan of Superman I just mean that I’ve never followed him closely but I do like him as a hero and a pop culture icon.

Artist Mauricio Abril did a really great job of blending his stylized art, with the classic story of the man of steel. I love that as a young boy Clark Kent saw how to become a hero by watching his father Johnathan. I think the father figure is one of the most important influences in a young man’s life and this was a great example. I know that people these days seem to be so progressive and look down upon the more old school traditions, but to me the value of a father in a young man’s life can not be measured. Like I said last week, it is what ensures that we raise heroes and not villains.

From Artist Mauricio Abril
“A Smallville Man” is my animatic film featuring an original Superman story told in over 150 illustrations set against the aural backdrop of the song “Walk” by the American Rock band Foo Fighters.

This awesome rendition of the man of steel works so well on many different levels. Give it a watch and let me know what you think Nerd Nation. Personally I could even get behind a web series or something of that sort in this art style. Leave me your thoughts in a comment below, on the Facebook page or hit me up on Twitter…Enjoy!
