Suicide Squad Movie Cast

DC and Warner Bros. has announced their casting choices for their up coming feature film based on their team of villains that is sent on suicide missions for the government. I honestly couldn’t give two shits about this movie and honestly it kind of pisses me off that Warner Bros. is throwing this movie out there like that. It seems to me like they don’t really care what their fans want and for some reason believe that Batman vs Superman is going to be their big winner. Once again putting all their eggs in one basket (like with Man of Steel) and then delivering a movie that no one has asked for.

The Suicide Squad, directed by David Ayer will begin shooting in April 2015 in Toronto, and is set for an August 6, 2016 release. The cast will include Jared Leto as The Joker, Will Smith as Deadshot (Seriously?), Tom Hardy (Bane) as Rick Flag, Margot Robbie will be Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney will be Boomerang and Britsh actress Cara Delevingne is going to be Enchantress. I have to admit that this is a very interesting cast of actors that Warner Bros. has put together.

Again, I don’t really understand the logic here though. The storyline of the Suicide Squad is definitely a popular one and was made even more popular by the CW show Arrow, but I don’t think anyone has been knocking down Warner Bros. door for them to make a movie out of it. Some of you might compare this to Marvel doing movies like Guardians of The Galaxy and Inhumans which weren’t as well known or even asked for by fans, but I say they are nothing alike in the simple fact that Marvel delivered the big movies and crossovers that fans wanted to see long before they decided to invest time and money into those lesser known story lines. With DC and Warner we get a TV show set in Gotham City with no batman, The Flash doesn’t get a movie that ties him in with the Justice League, and the Teen Titans are also not getting a movie. Nightwing can’t even get a stand alone series because they wasted that good idea on Green Arrow.

Besides that, how interesting are these criminals without their history or their interactions with their Heroes? Anyways, I digress. As always I want to know what you think about this Nerd Nation. Are you excited for a Suicide Squad movie or would you have liked to have seen other characters have their own stand alone movies before them? If so who would you have liked to see get a movie before the Suicide Squad? Leave me your thoughts in a comment below, on my Facebook page, or on Twitter.
