Pokemon LEGO Set?

Remember when LEGOS were pretty much just baby toys? Sure we had some cool sets back in the day, like knights and pirates, but nothing like there is today. LEGO has made figures and sets out of some of the biggest licenses and properties that exist today. Properties like Marvel, DC, Disney, and Star Wars makes LEGO one of (if not the) largest toy companies in the entire world. That’s not including their own properties that they have come up with on their own either.

2762105-lego3Unfortunately not every property or idea gets turned into a super awesome LEGO set. In my opinion there have been many great ideas and opportunities that LEGO has passed on that they should have maybe given a second chance. Pokemon just happens to be one of those ideas. A builder by the name of Savath_Bunny submitted a very detailed concept of what a Pokemon set could possibly look like. The set, which was hoping to be titled Pikachu’s Pokemon Center, would have included; 5 mini figures (Ash, Misty, Brock, Nurse Joy, Prof. Oak) and 5 starter Pokemon (Pikachu, Squitle, Charmander, Bulbasaur, Eevee)

The set looks a little rough around the edges but 1000 times better than anything I could do. The concept (I think) is great but unfortunately LEGO does not agree. According to LEGO’s official product idea page the set will not be happening. “We’ve looked into the possibility of producing a set based on this licensed property (Pokemon). Since the property is owned by a competitor, we’ve decided it’s neither a brand fit nor a strategic fit for the Lego Group to pursue a license, and so we will not consider Pokemon projects on Lego Ideas further,“said the official LEGO page.

2762109-lego7So not so great news for us Pokemon fans but we’ll always have this concept LEGO set to remind us of what could have been. Thanks builder Savath_Bunnyfor trying. As always I wanna hear from the Nerd Nation. Would you have liked to see a Pokemon LEGO set and do you have any other ideas for the toy giant that they haven’t done yet?
