Banned PS4 Commercial (Video)

There is no denying that 2014 was a year filled with controversy about how we as a people treat one another. A lot of things were brought to light and helped change things for the better. However, some controversies seem to be a little ridiculous to me. Banning a PS Vita/PS4 commercial for being too sexually suggestive I think is a little on the extreme side. If there was actually any nudity or sexual acts being performed I would probably be on board with the banning of this commercial, but to me this was very cleverly written and just plain funny.

Sony released a commercial that advertises (although doesn’t show) the remote play feature of the PS Vita with the Playstation 4. The commercial features a very attractive young woman dressed as a doctor telling viewers when and where they can “Do it”. The meaning of the words “do it” are left up to interpretation until the end of the commercial when the beautiful doctor invites viewers to “do it” with her and reveals that she means play their Playstation games remotely.  Again, I thought this was very clever and was good for a laugh. I can however, see why people would get upset in the sense that this is a bit too suggestive for young viewers and could be considered objectifying to the woman in the commercial.

I’m not sure there is a right answer here but I am very interested to hear what you think Nerd Nation. Check out the banned PS4 commercial below, form your own opinion, and tell me what you think. Do you think the commercial was rightfully banned or do you think banning it went too far? Leave me your thoughts in a comment below, on Facebook, or on Twitter
