Sinister Six Movie Without Spider-Man?

Sony has been talking for a while now about their Spider-Man spinoff movies that they have planned and one of them includes a Sinister Six movie. Hell, the damn thing already has a potential release date of November 11, 2016. From the moment I heard it called that instead of “The Amazing Spider-Man 3: Rise of the Sinister Six” I knew we were in trouble. Amazing Spider-Man star Andrew Garfield recently spoke to the Toronto Sun at a film festival and teased about his involvement or lack there of with the Sinister Six movie.

I know more than I’m allowed to say right now,” said Garfield. “I can say I’m really excited about Drew Goddard, who’s going to be writing and directing The Sinister Six movie. And whether I’m involved in that or not is kind of immaterial.”

Obviously he didn’t really give much insight as to what we can expect from this movie but the interweb is abuzz with rumors that the Sinister Six movie will not include Spider-Man. This is not the first time I’ve heard this rumor either. When it was first announced there was no mention of him being part of it and was classed as a Spider-Man spinoff movie. Again, I’m not one to buy into every rumor I hear, but this to me sounds like some stupid idea that the Sony execs came up with to try and milk the Spider-Man universe for all it’s worth.

My major problem with this is that the Sinister Six wouldn’t even exist if it wasn’t for Spider-Man. So if this is true then they have already changed their origin story and for me, they also just took away the number one draw to even see the movie. The whole idea of why the Sinister Six even came to be was because Doc Oc wasn’t able to defeat Spider-Man on his own. It was only after he was beaten several times that he sought help from the other super villains and created one of Spidey’s greatest challenges to date. So I’m pretty sure most Spider-Man fans will be out on this movie because of that, not to mention the people who aren’t fans of the comics or old cartoons won’t even know who the hell the Sinister Six is…So who would this movie be marketed to?

Again there is no official word on if Spider-Man will or won’t be in this movie but my two cents is that it is a terrible idea if he is not. Anyways, let me know your thoughts on this Nerd Nation. Do you think Sony will put out a stand alone Sinister Six movie without Spider-Man and is that something you would want to see? Leave me your thoughts below, on Facebook, or on Twitter

New Batmobile Revealed

There has been a lot of “leaked” photos coming from the closed set of Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice which isn’t due out until 2016. We know that for the first time ever we will see two of the most iconic super heroes in history team up on the big screen. It is a shame we have to wait more than a year to see Ben Affleck and Henry Cavil put on the capes and decimate evil. However, in 2014 we are already getting our first look at Batfleck’s new ride. Again these are “leaked” images so the quality and detail aren’t that great, but I’m sure that DC will have an official follow up image out within the next week or so. Apple Joins The Giant Phone Craze

Today Apple announced the release of their new smart phones that iphone 6 and the iphone 6 Plus…Yes “Plus” means it’s bigger. Now I don’t know about you guys, but I’m just not a fan of these giant tablet sized phones. I know a few people that have them and they are very happy with them. As for myself, I don’t like them at all. They seem so impractical and if I wanted a tablet I would just use my ipad…tablet. This is just my opinion however, so by no means do I mean any disrespect to you guys out there that can’t fit your phones in your pocket.

I know most of you are wanting to know some of the specs for both the iphone 6 and the iphone 6 plus so here you go. The iphone 6 has a 4.7″ screen as oppsoed the the iphone 5s with a 4″ screen. It comes with an HD retina display and a resolution of 1334 x 750. The A8 processor will make it the fastest iphone yet. Personally I have had my iphone 5S for a little less than a year and I love it so I don’t think this is enough for me to upgrade.

The iphone 6 Plus comes in at a whopping 5.5 inches making it larger than the Samsung Galaxy S5 and the HTC One. It will also run an HD retina display but at a resolution of 1920 x 1080. Both will also include the new iSight camera that has a sensor with Focus Pixels and new video features, like 1080p HD at 60 fps, slo-mo at 240 fps, and time-lapse video mode. Pretty impressive since everyone is trying to get true 1080p out of just about everyone of their devices these days.

Apple also announced a new service called Apple Pay. Apparently you can check out at stores using an app on your iphone that uses the touch ID and passbook. I’m a little skeptical about that, but it definitely is innovative. All in all I’m not super impressed with their huge announcement today, but then again I’ve never claimed to be a huge apple fan either. They do have some great and convenient technology, but I probably won’t be upgrading just yet. As always I want to know what you think Nerd Nation. Are you excited about the new iphones or do you think you will wait? Let me know your thoughts in a comment below or on the Facebook page.
