R.I.P. Ultimate Warrior

One of the most recognizable wrestlers of all time has passed away. The WWE is reporting that The Ultimate Warrior has died at the age of 54. He was literally just inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame just days ago. It was no secret that he had his issues with the WWE and the wrestling industry it’s self, but it seemed as though he had recently come to some sort of reconciling with both. Warrior was born James Brian Hellwig and was a huge part of my childhood as I’m sure he was for many of you reading this. WWE posted a message on their official website;

WWE is shocked and deeply saddened to learn of the passing of one of the most iconic WWE Superstars ever, The Ultimate Warrior.

There were rumors back in the early 90s after he had left the WWE that he died and I was very much hoping that this was just a rumor as well. However, many sights are reporting the same things and fellow wrestlers are showing their condolences. So far there are no specific details on what might have caused his untimely and tragic death. One thing is for sure, a wrestling and pop culture icon has been taken way too soon. James Brian Hellwig is survived by his wife and two daughters. This is a very sad day for wrestling fans both young and old. For me he was right up there with Spider-Man and Optimus Prime…

Rest in peace Ultimate Warrior, we’ll miss you.
