Transformers: Age of Extinction Teaser (Video)

I honestly didn’t think that there could be a worse representation of our beloved Transformers than the previous Michael Bay movies, but then he had to go and prove me wrong. For those of you that didn’t get a chance to see the Super Bowl commercial for Transformers: Age of Extinction then today is your lucky or not so lucky (depending on how you look at it) day. I’m honestly not that shocked at how this movie is turning out but for some stupid reason I wanted to believe that the Dinobots could re-energize this tired franchise.

I’ve never been a big fan of the Bayformers movies, but for what they were I found them some what entertaining. Now Transformers: Age of Extinction being the fourth movie in the series I thought maybe there might be something fresh and innovative in store for us. However, if you watch the teaser below you can tell right off that bat that there really isn’t anything new going on here except that there are no robot dragons (not dinosaurs) and Mark Wahlberg in place of Shia Labeouf. The Decepticons are destroying cars and buildings and it’s up to the Autobots to stop them.

transformers-age-of-extinction-poster-dinobotsI get it, the cartoon series pretty much followed the same exact formula, but the robot designs were iconic and the show was innovative for its time. I have to admit that I was a bit interested in seeing the Dinobots on the big screen, but as soon as I saw them in this trailer I was already over it. These things look like robotic dragons and just because Optimus is riding one doesn’t make it cool. In fact it makes it lame because the Dinobots in the original cartoon actually had a power struggle with the Autobots at first because they believed they were physically superior.

All in all this movie looks like the same old crap that we’ve become use to from Michael Bay. Visually it’s impressive I guess but it all just looks like what we’ve already seen; Right down to the slow motion yelling, running from explosions, and dirt on the actor’s faces. Guys check out the teaser for Transformers: Age of Extinction and let me know what you think. Leave me a comment below or on the Facebook page.
