The Clone Wars Gets An Ending

It was a sad time last year when we heard that Lucas Arts would be shutting it’s doors, although I think most of us would agree that it was far beyond it’s prime. With the closing of Lucas Arts that meant that it’s long running TV show Star Wars: The Clone Wars would no longer air new episodes. The series was cut short and fans were left with a lot of unanswered questions. We speculated back in May that they would eventually tie up the loose ends of the Clone Wars TV series in either a movie, or possibly a mini series. Well it looks like the Star Wars: The Clone Wars series is going to get it’s finale, only not exactly the way we imagined it. According to Newsarama, Dark Horse comics will be publishing a comic book series that will wrap up the long running TV show. I guess that’s cool, but I’m personally a little disappointed that we don’t get like a mini series or movie with the same voice actors and animation style that we all grew to love so much. The comic series will be released in four parts and will be titled Darth Maul: Son of Dathomir. The really cool part about this is that the comic will be written based off the original screen plays from the Clone Wars TV series.

Quote from Newsarama;
Darth Maul: Son of Dathomir sees the full-scale return of Darth Maul to the Star Wars universe and into a head-to-head battle with his former master Darth Sidious – aka, the Emperor. Barlow promises to fully delve into the world of Dathomir, as well as some of its inhabitants like Nightbrothers and even a new character called Brother Viscus.

So all in all I guess it’s cool that Star Wars: The Clone Wars will be getting a finale and hopefully give the fans some sort of satisfying ending to the beloved series. As always we want to know your thoughts on this. Were you a fan of the TV series and if so will you be looking forward to reading the final chapter in comic book form?
