Optimus Prime Cosplay

This is seriously the best Optimus Prime Cosplay that I think I’ve ever seen, with the exception of possibly one other. Awesome proportion and attention to Detail in this costume. The sunglasses are a nice substitute for a full mask. Autobots Roll Out!

Throw Back – Toxic Crusaders (Video)

Man they were able to market some strange things to kids back in the 80s and early 90s. Toxic Crusaders was a kid friendly Saturday morning cartoon that was based off the intensely violent and sexual movie called “The Toxic Avenger.” How they ever got this show passed by a network I’ll never know, but I’m glad they did. Toxic Crusaders is one of those obscure cartoons that you just couldn’t get enough of as a kid. The show was about a young “Nerdy” janitor who was bullied and pushed into a vat of Toxic waste. He was then hideously disfigured, gained super powers, becoming Toxie.

After transforming into Toxie he and his Crusaders would battle the evil Dr. Killemoff and the corrupt Mayor Grody, all in an effort to protect the good people of Tromaville. I actually do remember watching this show on a regular basis though it was never my favorite. I even had a few of the toys including Toxie himself. I can’t say that this was one of the best cartoons of my childhood, but it is definitely one of the most memorable.

Anyways, I think the show only lasted like one or two seasons, but that didn’t stop them from cranking out merchandise like crazy. I definitely have some good memories with this show and the toys. As always we want to know what you think Nerd Nation. Do you remember watching this show as a kid and did you have any of the action figures that went along with it? The Clone Wars Gets An Ending

It was a sad time last year when we heard that Lucas Arts would be shutting it’s doors, although I think most of us would agree that it was far beyond it’s prime. With the closing of Lucas Arts that meant that it’s long running TV show Star Wars: The Clone Wars would no longer air new episodes. The series was cut short and fans were left with a lot of unanswered questions. We speculated back in May that they would eventually tie up the loose ends of the Clone Wars TV series in either a movie, or possibly a mini series. Click here to check out our previous post from last May.

Well it looks like the Star Wars: The Clone Wars series is going to get it’s finale, only not exactly the way we imagined it. According to Newsarama, Dark Horse comics will be publishing a comic book series that will wrap up the long running TV show. I guess that’s cool, but I’m personally a little disappointed that we don’t get like a mini series or movie with the same voice actors and animation style that we all grew to love so much. The comic series will be released in four parts and will be titled Darth Maul: Son of Dathomir. The really cool part about this is that the comic will be written based off the original screen plays from the Clone Wars TV series.

Quote from Newsarama;
Darth Maul: Son of Dathomir sees the full-scale return of Darth Maul to the Star Wars universe and into a head-to-head battle with his former master Darth Sidious – aka, the Emperor. Barlow promises to fully delve into the world of Dathomir, as well as some of its inhabitants like Nightbrothers and even a new character called Brother Viscus.

So all in all I guess it’s cool that Star Wars: The Clone Wars will be getting a finale and hopefully give the fans some sort of satisfying ending to the beloved series. As always we want to know your thoughts on this. Were you a fan of the TV series and if so will you be looking forward to reading the final chapter in comic book form?
