Jesse Eisenberg Cast as Lex Luthor

Is this some sort of Joke DC? I mean I had to read this story twice so that I could look for some sort of clues telling me that this was really a joke. However, I have found no evidence that it is a joke. Apparently Warner Bros. and DC in all their infinite wisdom have figured out who the best actor is to play Superman’s arch enemy Lex Luthor. Warner Bros. Pictures announced today that Jesse Eisenberg has been cast to star as Lex Luthor and Jeremy Irons will play Alfred in the upcoming Zack Snyder Batman vs Superman, Justice League movie, or Man of Steel sequel. Not really sure what they are calling it these days.

I sort of think that they are just throwing in the towel at this point. Ben Affleck as Batman was one thing, but Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor is just plain ridiculous! Obviously someone wrote Zack Snyder a check before they found out that he is actually working for Marvel. It’s sabotage I tell you! No one in their right mind would pick the kid from Social Network and Zombieland to play this part. Don’t get me wrong I actually really like Jesse Eisenberg as an actor, but only when he’s in the right roles. I mean seriously though, out of all the amazing actors in Hollywood to choose from Jesse Eisenberg was their first choice? Or even second, third or fourth choice???

Mr. Zack Snyder had this to say about his casting choice;
“Lex Luthor is often considered the most notorious of Superman’s rivals, his unsavory reputation preceding him since 1940. What’s great about Lex is that he exists beyond the confines of the stereotypical nefarious villain. He’s a complicated and sophisticated character whose intellect, wealth and prominence position him as one of the few mortals able to challenge the incredible might of Superman. Having Jesse in the role allows us to explore that interesting dynamic, and also take the character in some new and unexpected directions.”

I think I’m in shock right now. I tried to be supportive of Batfleck but to me this is just plain idiotic…As always I want to know what you think about this Nerd Nation. Do you think that Jesse Eisenberg will make a good Lex Luthor or do you think that Zack Snyder is purposely trying to bury this movie before it ever gets off the ground? The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Super Bowl Ad (Video)

I don’t know about you guys, but I think I’ve seen just about every single Super Bowl ad already and the actual game isn’t for another three days. I would say I’m already over it but then we get a two part Amazing Spider-Man commercial. Actually I don’t actually know if it’s only two parts but I do know it’s more than one. I guess I just assume it’s two because anything more seems a little ridiculous. In this part we get some great new footage of the Web Head battling it out in New York and quite possibly saving Gwen Stacey from certain death…Maybe not though.

I have to admit that this Spider-Man sequel looks pretty intense and I am already like what I’m seeing more than Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 3. I only bring that up because I know it was being compared to that movie to do how many villains we were hearing about. Anyways checkout the first part of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Super Bowl ad and let me know what you think. Are you excited to see what happens next and have the trailers changed your mind about the movie for the Good or Bad?

Enjoy!

Ghost in The Shell Live Action Movie

So apparently there is a live action adaptation being made of the popular Anime movie Ghost In the Shell. I personally loved that movie and it was one of the films that inspired my love of anime. In fact I still own it on VHS. The first animated film was release in 1995 and based off the Masamune Shirow manga of the same name. It inspired a sequel and a well received anime series. The big news in not necessarily that it is being made into a live action feature film, but who has been chosen to direct this new project.

Evil Empire?

Stuff like this makes me laugh because I can’t imagine that every signal employee of the empire is evil. I’m sure most of them never actually gave it much thought. Anyways, it has been a tough day and this put a smile on my face. I hope it puts one on yours. Happy Hump Day Nerd Nation!

Attack On Titan Live Action Commercial (Video)

As most of you know I am a huge fan of the anime series Attack on Titan. I’ve heard of a possible Attack on Titan live action movie that could be in the works but there aren’t many details on it..At least none that I could find. Also, I know that the movie is set for a Japan release so most likely we won’t see it here in the states unless we find somewhere to download it or buy it online when it comes out on Blu Ray. However, there has been a little sample that was given out of what the movie will look like, and it comes in the form of a Subaru commercial oddly enough.

Shinji Higuchi is one of Japan’s top special effects supervisors and he has put together a little sample of what the Titans will look like for his up coming theatrical release. I have to admit that these things are just as terrifying if not more than I imagined them to be if they were real. Higuchi has done a spectacular job of staying true to the look and feel of the Titans from the anime series. Honestly, Hollywood directors could definitely learn a thing or two from him because the Titans definitely look like they could be real, yet still hold true to their features from the anime.

Check out this short commercial and pay attention to the details in the Titans. Based off this small sample do you think that Attack on Titan will make a good live action film? Leave me a comment below or on the Facebook page telling me your thoughts.

New TMNT Movie Pics

So there are some viral pictures going around that are supposedly from the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle’s movie. There has been quite a few rumors as of late that dealt with a lot of controversy, but so far nothing has been officially confirmed. To read up on some of the previous rumors Click Here and Click Here. Below we have posted the pictures and again I have a feeling these are the real deal. The first picture is apparently of the mysterious action figures that we got a description of, but never saw. The second picture is allegedly from the film its self and shows a full body picture of Leonardo and The Shredder.

Click on the images below to enlarge them.

Right now I really don’t have much an opinion on them because I can’t really decide if I like this new look or not. These guys definitely look a lot tougher and grittier than the turtles we knew from the early 90s but that doesn’t mean that it’s better. To be honest with you I do think the Shredder’s look isn’t half bad. He definitely looks menacing which is a very good thing. I guess only time will tell if these pictures are real, but you can bet if they are that the studio execs will be quick to release “official” picture within the next few days to try and cover their asses.

Update: These are not action figures but are models for the actual film and even though the studio themselves have not come out and confirmed this, these are the real thing. Here’s a few more pics.

As always I want to know what you think Nerd Nation. If these pictures are real, what do you think about the look of the Turtles and Shredder. Does this make you want to go see the movie more or less now that you have seen them. Leave me your thoughts in a comment below or on the Facebook page.

Zombie Truth

I have to admit that this one actually got me. I mean sure we’d all love to think of ourselves as the heroic Rick Grimes leading our friends and family to safety. However, I’m sorry to say that the ugly truth is that most of us (including myself) would probably be dead before we ever knew what hit us. Still this was good for a laugh 😀

Star Wars Rebels: Astro Droid Chopper (Video)

So I don’t know about the rest of you, but I’m pretty excited for the new Star Wars: Rebels animated series that is coming out. I like that it takes place between episodes three and four because the art style is much closer to the original films than the prequels were. This is made obvious by the design of their new Astro droid Chopper. Just by looking at him you can see the much more industrial look and feel to him which I love. This little video kind of introduces him a bit and explains what kind of role he will be playing in the new series.

It’s pretty obvious that he is going to be some of the comic relief in this new series much like R2 was in the first films, so you kind of already know what to expect with that. However, this little droid seems to have a bit more fire to his personality and it sounds like he might cause more problems for the rebels than he fixes. So far I am actually really pleased with the designs that I have seen for this new show and Chopper is no exception. This gives me hope for the theatrical release of Star Wars Episode VII because it hopefully means that Disney is understanding what the fans want to see.

Anyways, check out this video introducing the Grumpy Astromech Droid “Chopper” and let me know what you think. Do you guys like the direction this show is going and how do you feel about this droid design? Leave me your thoughts in a comment below or on the Facebook page.
