Kung Fury (Video)

Who doesn’t remember all the cheesy B rated cop movies from the 1980s? Most if not all of us have seen at least one sometime in our life. As much fun as they are to watch, I’ve always thought they could use a bit more substance like arcade-robots, dinosaurs, nazis, vikings, norse gods, mutants and a super kung fu-cop! Well thankfully the good people over at Laser Unicorns agrees with me, and decided to make a movie with all that over the top goodness wrapped up in a neat little package called Kung Fury.

There is so much nostalgic awesomeness in this movie that you’ll think you’re cliche 80s kid in a cliche 80s movie watching a cliche 80s kid watching a cliche 80s movie…Yeah…You heard me. The story follows a renegade cop named Kung Fury who has to travel back in time to kill Adolf Hitler but travels too far back in time and needs some help to make it back and complete his mission.

kunfurycaptureEverything from the stylized way the movie was filmed to the dialog has such a cheesy yet appropriate feel to it. The music and wardrobe choices go hand in hand with this film and you can tell a lot of thought went into each choice that was made for this film. It’s purposefully bad but in such a great way. Just in the trailer you can see some subtle things like the room full of computers and the use of a Nintendo Power Glove, that tells you the creators have a great sense of what they want this movie to be. Right now Laser Unicorn is looking for supporters on Kick Starter. I believe they have reached enough to release a free 30 minute film online but still need help reaching their gol of getting a feature length movie made.

If you wish to support this awesome project then just Click Here to check out Laser Unicorn’s KickStarter page. Anyways check out the trailer below and as always let us know what you think. Would you like to see this as a feature length film. Honestly I would love to get it on Blu-Ray with a bunch of special features on how this idea came to be.
