New Flash TV Series???

It has been confirmed that we will be getting a new Flash TV series on the CW. Well, technically it has only been confirmed that The Flash aka Barry Allen played by actor Grant Gustin will be introduced to the world in a stand alone pilot episode. The original idea was that the CW was going to introduce The Flash in season 2, episode 20 of their popular series Arrow. However, since Barry Allen had already been introduced in episodes 8 and 9 with a good response from the audience, CW execs felt confident to movie forward on a Flash standalone pilot.

Now I’ve never really been a huge fan of DC or their characters. I personally don’t have anything against them, I just never followed any of them very closely. I’ve only caught a few episodes of Arrow myself, but it seemed pretty good. I definitely remember the old Flash TV series from the early 90s but I’m sure that is a far cry from what CW plans to do with the character in this new pilot. Obviously this could turn into a new series as well depending on what kind of reception it gets from the fans.

According to
“The creative team for The Flash pilot will be Arrow co-creators Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg, writer Geoff Johns, and director David Nutter. Berlanti, Kreisberg and Nutter will executive produce with Melissa Kellner Berman co-executive producing.”
