Tokyo Drift Star Returning for Fast 7

In case you haven’t already heard, it appears the the producers of the Fast and the Furious franchise are taking a page out of Sylvester Stallone’s book with his Expendables movies, by adding in even more cast members to their roster. It has been confirmed the Lucas Black will be reprising his role as Sean Boswell for the up coming Fast and Furious 7 movie set to release next summer. Lucas appeared as the main character in the third film of the series Fast and The Furious: Tokyo Drift.

This is actually pretty cool since there has been a great debate on whether Tokyo Drift was actually canon or not. As we saw at the end of Fast 6 Han dies and it now sets us up to see Sean and Toretto finally have their race in Tokyo. The only problem is Sean Boswell is supposed to be a high school student but by the time Fast 7 is released it will have actually been 7 years since the end of Fast 3. Lucas Black might have passed for a high schooler at 24 but I think it might be a bit of a stretch for him at 31.

Only time will tell how this will all turn out, but I actually really like the way they are connecting everything. I still love the original Fast and Furious the best and Tokyo drift was a close second. My reasoning for those 2 are because I grew up in the age of illegal street racing and even raced my own 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX. As always let us know your thoughts about the up coming 7th movie of the franchise. Are you excited to see Lucas Black again or are you over the whole Fast and The Furious movies.
