Xbox One vs 360 Headset

So it’s no surprise to most of you that I haven’t been a huge supporter of Microsoft as far as the Xbox One is concerned. I have to admit that I’m a bit rebellious by nature and when a multi-billion dollar company tells me that I have to purchase their new product and be happy about the steps backwards they took from their old product, then I tend to want do the opposite. However, I try to be fair and impartial for the most part so sometimes you gotta give the devil his due.

The Xbox One does have some features that I like and would still eventually like to own one day. Recently Xbox released 2 recordings of voice audio for us to compare. One is the “chat” quality of the Xbox 360 headset and the other is the “chat” quality of the Xbox One headset. I will admit that there is a pretty clear difference between the 2 and the Xbox One’s headset’s sound quality is very nice. this will definitely make playing games online with other people much more enjoyable. I can relate to not being able to understand some people I would be playing with due to low sound quality through the Xbox 360 headset.

Here is a quote take from Xbox’s Major Nelson on the new Xbox One headset:
The Xbox One Wireless Controller’s new expansion port dramatically expands the data transfer rate between the controller and console. Combined with Skype’s audio codec, this enables crystal-clear digital audio with the Xbox One Chat Headset, both capturing and rendering speech at 24 KHz PCM, which is triple the rendering sample rate and a 50 percent capture rate improvement over Xbox 360 headsets. And, as we shared before, the Xbox One Chat Headset comes with every Xbox One console.

Anyway, give the recordings a listen and as always let us know what you think? Is this something that might win you over to purchase an Xbox? Tell us why or why not down below or in the comment section of our Facebook Page!
