Net Flix to lose over 2,000 Movies

Taken from Machinima:

Netflix will lose almost 2,000 movies from its massive library today from Warner Bros. so that they can start their own competing instant stream service “Warner Archive Instant”. They are also taking quite a hit from Viacom (MTV/Nickelodeon) within the next few weeks due to contracts ending. Is this sign of things to come a bad thing, or will this result in more premium in-house created content from Netflix like House of Cards & Arrested Development?

I can’t imagine watching a streaming service that only contains movies from Warner Bros. They do have some good movies but I don’t see this being a really big money making idea. In my personal opinion I think Netflix will continue to grow and make some great new partnerships with other Networks. I think the recent partnership with Disney and Cartoon Network is proof of that. As far as Warner Bros. goes I think they will have to offer a lot more features at a good price point for them to compete with services like Netflix and Hulu plus.

Anyways, what are your thoughts on this Nerd Nation? If you have Netflix does this make you consider canceling your subscription and if you don’t does this news impact your thoughts on getting it at all?Let us know what you think on our Facebook Page!
