It’s Official! PS4 Announced by Sony

So we pretty much already knew that Sony’s big announcement was going to be it’s next gen console and we were right. At 6pm Eastern time Sony began their press conference that announced the release of their new gaming system called (what else) The Playstation 4. It’s cool to see that Sony is getting a jump on the competition this time around.

Sony has said that the new PS4 will have 8 gigabytes of RAM and comes with a “massive” hard drive!

Also it will be able to stream gameplay footage and “spectate”, watch other people play games even if you don’t have that game.

You’ll also be able to play PS4 games on your Vita with a function called “remote play.” Essentially it sounds like what the Wii is doing with the Wii-U

I’m not really sure I understand that whole creating dreams idea since they decided to bring back the motion controller that looks like a Wii-mote with a glowing ball at the end of it. From what I gathered they want you to be able to create and design your own 3D character models and landscapes…I think. Also, they showed off 3 new exclusive titles as well as a couple indi games and a game from capcom under the working title “Deep Down.” The 3 exclusives are Killzone: Shadow Fall (really not impressed with it) DriveClub (which looked inavative and beautiful)and Second Son (which looked interesting)

Quantic Dream’s David Cage took the stage to show off a real time motion animation of an old man that he said the next gen games will be looking like.

There were so many amazing things that were shown but the 2 things that stood out to me was “Watch Dogs” and “Destiny”…That’s right Bungie is bringing their new game to The Playstation. There was so much talked about but unfortunately we couldn’t get to everything. But don’t worry, we will get you updates as they are released.

All in all the PS4 is looking pretty good and I for one am excited about it. I either missed the price or they didn’t say but it will be released around the Holidays 2013
