Throw Back Thursday!

Yes it’s a day late, but it’s never too late to take a trip back in time. Let’s go way back to the year 1986. Every toy company was looking for the next big thing. Jim Henson productions were very popular with Sesame Street, Fragile Rock, and The Muppets so why not combine all 3 and call it a monster?

Thus the world was blessed with “My Pet Monster.” He didn’t have an actual name nor did he come with any color variations other than his recognizable blue fur and orange hand cuffs. If you’re friend got one then it was exactly like the one you had but we didn’t care. We loved him despite all these things and he was on every kid’s Christmas list. There was a short lived T.V. series based on the 22 inch plush and a live action movie that went straight to home video, none of which garnered much success.

But “My Pet Monster” will always be a favorite memory for those of us who grew up in the 80’s.
